Description

The SHS combines a finned dry coil on top with a spray-wetted prime-surface coil below. In hot weather it works as an evaporative closed circuit cooler and can cool fluid below ambient dry-bulb; in cool weather or at part load it runs dry to save water and reduce plume.
How it works

Selection on request
Ratings are provided per project after engineering review with our manufacturing partner. Send your fluid, flow, inlet/outlet temperatures, design ambient and site location for a duty-specific selection.
Middle East site notes
Confirm design dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures, power supply, water quality, coastal exposure, sound limit and installation clearances before final selection.
Features and options
- Two-stage coil: dry and wet
- Galvanised, SS304 or SS316L wet-coil options; material choice subject to make-up water analysis
- PLC dry/wet control
- Spray pump and basin integrated
Applications
Process cooling below ambient · power and oil and gas · data centers · industrial chiller loops
Frequently asked questions
SHS or SCC closed tower?
Both provide closed-loop evaporative cooling; SHS adds a dry coil for seasonal water savings. Selection depends on duty and climate.
How much load can it carry dry?
Preliminary estimate is roughly 20% at 25 °C ambient at design flow; confirm for each duty.
What water quality is required?
Apex engineering selects water treatment and materials from the project water analysis.
