SDV V-Type Dry Cooler

The SDV packs two inclined finned coils in a V around a row of Ø910 mm EC fans. It is the workhorse for closed loops that run 10 K or more above ambient: process water, generator jackets, data-center free-cooling and chiller heat rejection — with zero water consumption.

Frequently asked questions

Can a dry cooler deliver 40 °C water at 46 °C ambient?

No. A dry cooler always leaves fluid above ambient dry-bulb. For this duty see SHA or SHS.

How are ratings calculated?

By the ε-NTU method at the stated conditions. Ratings are preliminary; Apex engineering confirms each project selection.

Can it run with glycol?

Yes; capacity and pressure drop are re-calculated for the glycol type and concentration.

What coil protection do you suggest near the sea?

Coated fins or Cu/Cu coils may be suitable for coastal sites; selection depends on site conditions.

Larger than one module?

Modules are banked in parallel on site with a common header.
